Credentials and Experience
Ted Devine received his MBA from the University of Chicago MBA Program majoring in Financing and minoring in Statistics. He graduated with Highest Honors. Ted received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University majoring in Finance also graduating with high honors. Ted started his career at Deloitte where he earned his CPA and was an M&A Advisor/Consultant. There he provided financial consulting, deal structuring and due diligence services to leading PE and Investment Banks in New York. After Deloitte and the University of Chicago he joined McKinsey & Company. Ted was at McKinsey for 12 years progressing from Associate to Senior Partner (Director). He made Principal in 5 years and Director in 10. At McKinsey & Company, Mr. Devine become a leader of the North American Insurance practice and founded mRisk, McKinsey’s insurance digital insurance consulting practice. Mr. Devine then joined AON where he held 3 major CEO/President roles. First as President of North American Retail Brokerage where he was able to help this $1.5 billion division improve margins from -2% to 15% in 18 months. Then as CEO of AON’s most profitable division AON Reinsurance (now AON Benfield) he focused the organization on a consistent customer value delivery approach, led the acquisition of the #6 Reinsurance broker from Gallagher and was part of the senior team who acquired the #3 reinsurance broker (Benfield). Finally, Ted was President of AON Global Brokerage, AON’s largest division with $4 billion in revenue and 30,000 employees, covering 70 countries. There he created GRIP AON’s data and analytics business which now has over $1 billion in revenue and led the negotiating team in AON’s Manchester United global partnership. Mr. Devine left AON to found 1WORLD Sports a 501c focused on working with at-risk youth in the city of Chicago teaching the life lessons from sports. 1WORLD has helped over 5,000 kids over the past 10 years. Currently, Mr. Devine serves as Co-Chairman of the Board of Insureon. Ted was CEO of Insureon for 7 years building the firm from $5m of revenue and $50 million in premium to $40m of revenue reaching and $4 billion in premium. There he built the fastest growing agency management digital technology in the US which is used by the #2 Personal Lines carrier, the #1 and #2 Payroll companies, the #1 Affinity carrier in the US and the #3 and #6 global broking firms.
